Canadian Thanksgiving
We got celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with my Grandparents last weekend. My dad flew in from Utah to spend the week with them so we were able to get a double dose of relatives in :-) We went out to a pumpkin farm for a wagon ride and Nathaniel and my dad shot pumpkins at targets, (that was fun!). And of course, you can't go wrong with Thanksgiving dinner, especially when Grandma is the main cook.
It was good to spend time with my Dad and Grandparents. I thought of how remarkable Heavenly Father's Plan for families is, in that it provides an opportunity for different generations to spend time together and to learn from each other. I am grateful for my health and youthfulness but admire the wisdom and fine tuned goodness of my grandparents. It was remarkable to contrast what different trails we each face as well. My too little ones struggle to keep still at meal time and share toys. Nathaniel is working hard at a new job and carrying the heavy burden of providing for a family. My grandparents have lived through those trials of youth and now my Grandma supports my Grandpa as they learn to live with his degeneration of Alzheimer's.
How blessed we each are to have the opportunity to be born into this world, to live. How grateful I am for our Heavenly Fathers plan which provides hope through despair, and added joy to times of rejoicing.
